One of the most widely used stones in South Florida is the Mexican Pavers (Saltillo, Lincoln, Hacienda, etc). Pavers create a rustic old world, Spanish-Mexican styled look. Pavers are composed of clay and are handmade in Mexico. Depending on the material, they are "fired", "sun dried" or "cured" leaving them with varying degrees of hardness and porosity.
There are also varying degrees of colors, surface texture and finishes, which results in a more antique or worn appearance. Most Paver floors usually require only a heavy duty cleaning to remove surface soil which occurs mainly in the traffic areas.
